Pennsylvania Drug Crimes Defense Lawyer
Whether you are a juvenile charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana or an adult arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin or other drug crimes, contact me me, attorney Niels C. Eriksen, for effective defense against all drug crime charges.
I have more than 10 years of experience defending clients charged with drug offenses, including:
- Possession with intent to manufacture
- Possession with intent to deliver (PWID)
- Possession with delivery/trafficking
- Delivery to a law enforcement officer
In all drug cases, I will question the stop to ensure that any evidence being used against my client was obtained legally. I will also determine whether the arresting officer can identify my client and link him or her to the evidence.
Linking Evidence to Individuals
If there are four people in a car and drugs are found in the trunk, it doesn't necessarily mean all four people are involved in transporting a drug. My client may not have been aware that the drugs were in the vehicle.
The nature of the drug trade makes false accusations of drug crimes common. A person arrested on a drug charge may give police the names of others to gain favor with police.
Most drug offenses carry mandatory license suspensions in Pennsylvania.
I will negotiate to get the charges against my clients dismissed or reduced.
Consequences for drug crimes are exceptionally harsh. Mandatory minimum prison sentences are imposed for possession of just two grams of most street drugs, except marijuana. I have been very successful in persuading the district attorney not to prosecute my clients for the mandatory minimum sentences in drug crimes.
In addition, I will explore alternatives to incarceration through participation in programs such as boot camp, drug treatment and halfway houses. Many attorneys are unaware that these alternatives exist. Fewer still know that conviction for drug crimes nearly always includes driver's license suspension.
If you have been charged with a drug crime, I will work to reduce the full extent of the possible negative consequences associated with the arrest. To learn more, please contact me to arrange a free consultation and case evaluation.
